To mark Fairtrade Fortnight Bridgend Quakers decided to combine their regular support for Bridgend Foodbank with supporting the Fairtrade campaign.

Two years ago Bridgend town caught up with Porthcawl in gaining Fairtrade status. The next challenge is for Bridgend County Borough to become a Fairtrade county. We hope this will be achieved in the very near future with Parc Prison as our flagship local Fairtrade employer.

To date 18 Welsh counties have achieved Fairtrade status, with Wales being the first country in the world to have achieved Fairtrade status.
